Q: How long will home groups take place?

A: 8 consecutive weeks, beginning the week of April 12, 2026. 

Q: How do I sign up?

A: Sign up Online at  calvarypalosverdes.com/homegroups or through the Church Center app. Download here if you haven't already. If you need assistance, visit the Connection Table located in the lobby. If you join a group that welcomes children, no need to register them but please notify your hosts of how many you plan to bring. When you signup for a spot in a home group, you are committing to attending all 8 weeks.

Q: Can I select the group closest to my own home?

A: You can use the registration options to choose the time/day and location that will allow for your full participation and commitment.

Q: What content will be covered?

A: The home group hosts will be leading a discussion based study on the previous week’s Sunday morning sermon. The gathering will start with fellowship then lead into a time of discussion and prayer. 

Q: What do I need to bring to Home Group?

A: Make sure to have your Bible (ESV translation will align with the provided material), a notebook and pen, and a heart ready to know Jesus and be known by one another in your church community. 

Q: If I choose not to participate in home groups, will there still be midweek studies to attend at Calvary Chapel Palos Verdes main campus? 

A: At The Table Home Groups will be our primary focus for a 8 week time period, therefore all midweek ministry will take a break (except for youth). 

We encourage our entire church body to prayerfully respond to the strong encouragement to engage in this season of home fellowship. 

Q: How big are the home groups?

A: The hope for “At The Table” is that these times together would reflect the intimate and close knit atmosphere of a family dinner.  With that in mind, we are seeking to assemble groups with the average attendance goal of 10-15 people.

Q: Can I bring my kids? 

A: We have several home groups created for families. Look for the note "Kids Welcome" to ensure you will be able to attend a home group during a season of parenthood. We will try to appoint leaders in those groups to serve by giving a kids ministry lesson or parents can rotate in serving the kids over the 8 weeks. 

Q: Will the groups stop after 8 weeks? Can we continue meeting?

A: Our heart is to have seasons of Home Groups and seasons of Midweek Bible Studies. We encourage that when At The Table ends after 8 weeks that we gather again at the church for midweek Bible Studies. Families can obviously continue to meet in homes since relationships will be formed, but we will not be formally organizing At The Table Home Groups after the 9 weeks. We will continue to have Home Groups for the coming years of our church and this ministry will only build upon itself!
