Our Story

Calvary Chapel Palos Verdes is one of many Calvary Chapel churches worldwide. The Calvary Chapel movement began in 1965 right here in Southern California and played a key role in what is known as The Jesus Movement. Calvary Chapel Santa Barbara, our sending church, began in 1978. We come from a rich heritage of Jesus loving, Bible teaching, and Spirit filled ministries.

In the summer of 2020, a divine appointment brought together the leaders of Calvary Chapel Palos Verdes and Life On The Hill. This local church had faithfully gathered for 10 years, and through the Spirit’s prompting, they prayerfully decided to all join together in planting a new one. In his timing, Calvary Chapel Palos Verdes officially started services in September of that same year. To God be the glory for what he has done, is doing, and will do in Palos Verdes, California!
